Conclusions
The limited published data and data available from UKTIS do not indicate that paternal exposure to methotrexate is associated with an increased risk of congenital malformations or spontaneous abortions. There are theoretical risks that sperm mutation may occur following paternal treatment with methotrexate, however in the limited studies performed a significant increase in chromosomal breakage has not been observed.
